June bearing. Large white flowers are followed by incredibly aromatic, deep crimson berries that have an unusual, extremely intense, musky flavor that’s been variously described as having hints of raspberry, melon, and cheese. The berries are larger than other alpine strawberries but smaller than garden strawberries and are held well above the foliage. Plants grow 12-16 inches tall, spreading vigorously with runners.
Care: Plant 12-16″ apart with the crown at soil level. Needs rich, well-drained soil, sun to light shade, and 1-2″ of water per week.
