This leek has a unique taste, different from the somewhat hot, acidic flavor normally associated with leeks and onions. Bandit is sweet and mild.
Care: In late spring, space pencil-thick transplants 6″ apart in rows 24″ apart. Leeks can be grown in hot climates if given afternoon shade and cool soil. They require regular water to thrive. In cold winter areas, plant leek transplants in the early spring to harvest them late as long as soil doesn’t fully harden with frost.
