A beautiful feature plant which prefers well-drained soil against a warm west or south wall. Forms a large shrub, with smooth green stems, topped with whorls of long narrow, acid-green leaves, each striped with a central white vein. These often take on colorful hues in autumn. In late spring these carry round heads of curious knobby orangey-red flowers, heavily scented like honey, followed by pea-like fruits. Reaches 4-6 feet tall and wide at maturity. Full sun.
