This collection of purple-tinged collards is the beginning of an all-purple Ultracross, selected from 21 original cold-hardy selections from The Utopian Seed Project, first planted in 2020. Included in the selection were the following varieties: William Moore, Fulton Stroud, Tabitha Dykes, Fuzzy’s Cabbage Collard, E.B. Paul, Jernigan Yellow Cabbage Collard, Yellow Cabbage Collard, Georgia, White Cabbage Collard, Willis Collard Greens, Ole Timey Blue, Georgia Blue Stem, North Carolina Yellow, McCormack’s Green Glaze, White Mountain Cabbage Collard, Green Glaze, Miss Annie Pearl Counselman, Brickhouse Old Collard, Lottie Collard, Vates, Georgia Southern. This mix represents a great chance to plant out lots of different genetics. There’s a beautiful diversity of leaf shapes and color combinations in this highly adaptive and evolving collection of collards. These are the only collards with purple leaves and/or stems. Care: Plant 20-30″ apart in rows 24-36″ apart in full sun, cool moist soil.
