Tomatillo ‘Grande Rio Verde’

Description

Loads of large, apple-green fruits appear on determinate plants that don’t need staking. Fruit is enclosed in papery husks that split when fruits are ripe. 60-70 days from transplant. OP
Care: Plant 3-4′ apart in rows 3-4′ apart in full sun. Fruits are ripe when the papery husk turns light brown and splits open, and will store up to 3 months in the husk. A lone tomatillo may grow and bloom but set little fruit; for abundant harvests, grow two or more tomatillo plants near each other to encourage cross-pollination.
