Squash (Winter) ‘Sweet Meat’ Hubbard-type

Description

Northwest heirloom that’s excellent for short season climates. The slightly flattened, 10-15 pound fruits have an unusual, handsome gray rind and exceptionally sweet, dry, nutty golden flesh that makes a mouth-watering pumpkin pie. A good keeper whose flavor only sweetens and intensifies in storage. 100-115 days from transplant. OP
Care: Plant 4-5′ apart in rows 6-8′ apart in full sun. Leave on the vine as long as possible, until rinds have hardened. Bring in after the first light frost, before rains.
