A white-blooming sea campion that works beautifully as a sunny groundcover. In spring, it forms a mat of slender gray-green leaves topped by masses of inch-long tubular flowers that open into crisp white, cheerful faces. Does well on cliffs, rocky outcrops, and sand dunes. Sun to light shade in poor to fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it is very drought tolerant. Grows 6 to 8 inches. Photo courtesy of Jelitto.
