Glowing in the pumpkin patch, these bone-white pumpkins look like spectres peering up through the vines. Smooth, unblemished skin is nicely ribbed on uniform fruit for absolutely ghostly displays. Each squash measures a squat 8 inches across and weighs 4–6 pounds. Their slender handles add an extra unusual touch with stripes of green on white. Blanco retains its pure white color better than other varieties, resisting yellowing from sunlight and frosts. 100 days. Photo courtesy of Territorial Seed.
Care: Plant 5-6′ apart in rows 6-8′ apart in full sun. Space more widely and remove all but one fruit from each vine for the largest pumpkins. Leave on the vine as long as possible, until rinds have hardened. Bring in after the first light frost, before rains.
