Onion ‘White Grano’

Description

(aka ‘Texas Sweet’) Produces good yields of 1 lb white onions. The white flesh is very sweet and flavorful. Comparable to Vidalia onion. Perfect for salads, slicing, and cooking. Stores well, up to 2 months. Developed in 1980 by Leonard Pike at Texas A & M University, from the “Grano” variety brought over from Valencia, Spain in 1925.

Care: Plant in 4″ wide bands, in rows 12″ apart with full sun and well-drained soil.
