Lychnis coronaria ‘Alba’ (campion)

Description

A superb plant for a sunny border, Lychnis coronaria is a short-lived perennial forming clumps of silver felty leaves with striking white flowers which contrast beautifully with more brightly colored perennials. Grow in well-drained soil in full sun. It self-seeds readily, so if you don’t want seedlings popping up throughout your garden, cut plants back before the flowers set seed. Tolerant of poor soil and dry conditions. Grows to around two feet high. Photo courtesy of Jelitto Seeds.
