True compact, green, mini romaine. Alcazaba forms a very compact, kelly green, mini head with a bright yellow interior. The short plant averages 8″ tall and is very slow to become oversized. Though best for mini heads, it can also be used as a babyleaf. Especially nice marketed with other mini romaines, such as Breen, Dragoon, Truchas, etc. OP. Bolting and tipburn tolerant. High resistance to downy mildew. OP. Photos courtesy of Enza Zaden.
Care: Plant 12-16″ apart in rows 16-18″ apart in a mostly sunny area. Pick within 2-3 weeks of maturity for best flavor.
