Part of the Scent First® Pot series of dianthus, this variety has a spicy sweet fragrance, rose pink semi-double blooms with a darker eye, handsome evergreen foliage of grayish green, and a ground hugging, spreading habit just right to meander through the rock garden or fill in spaces in borders and the foundation. Dianthus Scent First® ‘Eternity’ has a scent that is most often compared to cloves: sweet yet spicy, with hints of nutmeg and allspice. Very different from the often cloying “too sweet” fragrance of some cut-flowers, it makes an ideal nosegay, boutonniere, and small arrangement for desk or tabletop. Deadhead and fed regularly to encourage fast repeat blooming. Grows to 9 inches tall with a 9 inch spread. Drought tolerant. Attracts bees and butterflies. Full sun. Photo courtesy of Ball Seed.
