A new winged gourd mix, which is unique for its bush plant type, offers fruit with rich colors including; dark green, orange, yellow, light green, and white. This hard-shelled variety yields fruit that are 3 – 5″ tall by 6 – 8″ wide at the tip of the wings.
Care: Plant 4-6′ apart in rows 6-8′ apart in full sun and well-drained soil. Grow on a trellis or fence for cleaner fruit. Leave on the vine as long as possible, until rinds have hardened. Bring in after the first light frost, before rains. Wash ripe gourd in diluted bleach solution, dry, then wax with floor wax and polish. Turn regularly while drying; takes about a month.
