Ultra Violet is a late-maturing super sweet corn that is well worth the wait. Strong husk protection, sturdy plants, and excellent row fill complement striking multicolored kernels in pink, purple, and white that hold their color beautifully when boiled, blanched, or grilled. Even the stalks exhibit deep purple hues. Sweet, rich, satisfying, and nicely textured. The 8″ long ears have 14–20 rows each. 6/12′ tall plants. 80 days. Photo courtesy of Johnny’s Seed.
Care: Plant 4-6″ apart in rows 24″ apart in full sun and rich fertile soil. Corn is wind-pollinated and individual varieties should be planted in blocks of at least 4′ by 4′ for best ear formation..
