Spinach ‘Jiromaru’ smooth leaf

Description

This productive and delicious spinach is a beloved staple in Japan, where the variety originated. The distinctive arrow-shaped leaves are a familiar sight at Japanese markets. It is commonly grown in Inazawa City in Aichi Prefecture, on the Nobi Plain, where it is believed that a western variety of spinach was crossed with a local native type many generations ago. 30-40 days. Care: Plant 6-10″ apart in rows 12-18″ apart in full sun and rich soil. Grows best in cool temperatures.

Continuous Harvest variety

Cold-tolerant plants that stand in the field for harvest as needed in late fall and early winter. May overwinter in mild seasons, or die back and sprout from the root in spring for an extra-early crop.
