Very large, (2 1/2- to 3-inches) intense green fruits have a juicy sweet-tart taste and are delightfully crunchy! A must-have for Mexican cooking and green salsas. Vigorous, healthy plants produced loads of delicious fruit, even during cold, wet weather. 65 days. Indeterminate. Photo courtesy of Gurney’s Seed.
Care: Plant 3-4′ apart in rows 3-4′ apart in full sun. Fruits are ripe when the papery husk turns light brown and splits open, and will store up to 3 months in the husk. A lone tomatillo may grow and bloom but set little fruit; for abundant harvests, grow two or more tomatillo plants near each other to encourage cross-pollination.
