Thuja occidentalis ‘Fire Chief’ arborvitae

Description

Not your typical arborvitae! Low-growing Fire Chief offers different colors in different seasons. The fine-textured evergreen foliage is bronze-orange at its tips year-round and it takes on more red tones in the fall. In spring the new growth is a bright yellow. This compact shrub, growing to just 5′ tall and wide, is excellent for color accent use in home gardens and landscapes. Likes full sun to part shade and is hardy to Zones 5-8. Protect from wind, which can dry this variety out fairly quickly. Image courtesy of NetPS Plant Finder.
