Celery ‘Redventure’

Description

A robust celery that provides a continual harvest of succulent stalks in shades of burgundy, red, and pink that make attractive, edible swizzle sticks for a Bloody Mary or other spicy savory drinks. 100-110 days from transplant. OP

Care: Plant 9-12″ apart in rows 18-24″ apart in sun or part shade. Keep soil consistently moist. Harvest outside stalks as needed.

Farmers Market Vodka Garden:

Over the centuries, vodka has been distilled from potatoes, grains and fruit – anything the farmer had left over at the end of harvest. And because vodka is a neutral spirit, it can be infused with all the flavors of the farmers market. Try a lighter, fresher version of the classic Bloody Mary by simply smashing fresh tomatoes in the shaker and straining. Or infuse vodka with peppers and herbs to preserve the flavor of the harvest.

Farmers Market Harvest Reserve: Muddle 1.5 ounces vodka with celery, cucumber, cilantro, peppers, tomatoes and a dash of Worcestershire. Shake over ice, strain, and serve over ice topped with tonic water. Garnish with celery.
