Aronia prunifolia ‘Aron’ Chokeberry

Description

Deciduous shrub with an upright, arching habit. Loads of white blooms in Spring lead to lots of dark purple – almost black – fruit ripen in late Summer, followed by brilliant orange and red Fall foliage. Fruit is edible and full of antioxidants and is best cut with a little sweetener. Will tolerate full sun but prefers part to light shade. Grows 5-8′ with a 3-7′ spread.
