A compact, densely branched mound of dark green foliage producing masses of showy bracted orange trumpet-shaped flowers with yellow throats and burgundy stripes at the ends of the stems from late spring to mid fall. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Its attractive twisted pointy leaves remain dark green in color throughout the season. This is a relatively low maintenance plant. Trim off the flower heads after they fade and die to encourage more blooms late into the season. It is a good choice for attracting bees, butterflies and hummingbirds to your yard. Will grow to be about 15 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 15 inches. This plant does best in full sun to partial shade with average to evenly moist conditions.
