For decades, we’ve been eating cabbage that was developed not for us, but for the infrastructure that delivers it to us. Vegetable breeders chased shipping durability and shelf life with single-minded focus, and somewhere in the relentless pursuit of a cabbage fit for a cross-country truck ride, we lost the plot entirely. We lost flavor. Enter Sugarcone Cabbage. This pointy-headed showstopper turns cabbage into a true centerpiece on the plate. The head of the Sugarcone cabbage has more of a cone shape as opposed to other round varieties. Sugarcone cabbage brings back what we lost—real cabbage flavor that’s naturally sweet, tender, and designed for taste. This cabbage is also smaller than other varieties. Sugarcone heads are only one or two pounds, making the produce ideal for smaller households and everyday cooking. With delicate, lettuce-like leaves, it delivers a tender crunch and a naturally sweet, mild flavor—without the sulfury cabbage bite.
