Pumpkin ‘Batwing Mix’

Description

Novelty bicolor mini pumpkins. A spooky little Halloween ornamental. Three inch rounded fruits weighing about 1/4 pound each are a unique orange and dark green color when harvested early, looking like an orange pumpkin that’s been dipped in green paint. Batwing will produce a variation of colors, with some being completely orange, some all dark green, and a good quantity being half orange and half green. Color will be expressed best when planted later and harvested earlier than other varieties. Semi-bush vines. 90 days. Photo courtesy of Harris Seeds.

Care: Plant 5-6′ apart in rows 6-8′ apart in full sun. Space more widely and remove all but one fruit from each vine for the largest pumpkins. Leave on the vine as long as possible, until rinds have hardened. Bring in after the first light frost, before rains.
