Seombadi Giant Korean Celery (Dystaenia takesimana)

Description

Dystaenia takesimana is the ultimate perennial edimental. Not only is this amazing Korean native stunning in flower, but it’s also used in Korean culture as the rest of the world would consume celery. The angelica-like foliage remains evergreen all winter, and is topped with 4′ stalks of Queen Anne’s Lace-like flowers, starting in June, that are laden with an amazing array of beneficial insects. After flowering, the plant goes dormant for a short rest, re-emerging in August. Both the leaves and stalks are used in soups. The flavor is somewhere between celery and lovage. Partial to full sun.
