This is a stunning, round-to-bell-shaped variety. The fruit can be terracotta, green, and yellow to buff-colored. It’s also warted, giving it a very unique and attractive look. You’ll want to use this one in centerpieces and displays before you consign it to the kitchen! An incredible variety from North Africa. Musquee de Maroc squash grows best in warm, sunny climates. It prefers fertile, well-drained soil with a pH between 6.0 to 7.5. Like most varieties, this squash likes consistent moisture, especially during dry spells, and should be mulched to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds. 90 days. Photo courtesy of Baker Creek.
Care: Plant 5-6′ apart in rows 6-8′ apart in full sun. Space more widely and remove all but one fruit from each vine for the largest pumpkins. Leave on the vine as long as possible, until rinds have hardened. Bring in after the first light frost, before rains.
