A self-fruiting olive prized for its dark brown fruit with highly aromatic oil content that ripens in fall, and the attractive, silvery green foliage. Highly adaptable, it produces abundantly in hot dry climates, and has shown increased hardiness over other varieties, withstanding temperatures as low as 5° F.
Thrives in most average, well-drained soils; best if slightly alkaline, but highly adaptable. More productive when planted near another olive variety. Water regularly during first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Drought tolerant when established.Shelter young plants from winter extremes.
If planted in the garden, this variety can reach 35-40 feet tall and 25 feet wide.
