Bottle-shaped, 2 inch heirloom gourds were once used by children as tops. Green and white skins turn tan when dry. 90-100 days from transplant.
Care: Plant 4-6′ apart in rows 6-8′ apart in full sun and well-drained soil. Grow on a trellis or fence for cleaner fruit. Leave on the vine as long as possible, until rinds have hardened. Bring in after the first light frost, before rains. Wash ripe gourd in diluted bleach solution, dry, then wax with floor wax and polish. Turn regularly while drying; takes about a month.
