Sambucus nigra ‘Serenade’

Description

This is a large, bushy, deciduous elderberry shrub producing sweetly scented white flowers in late spring and early summer. New growth emerges as pinkish-red in the spring, changes to yellow-green in the summer, then reverts back to pink-red in the fall. Grows 6 – 8 feet and likes full sun to part shade. Great for borders and mass plantings. Photo courtesy of Meridian Young.
