In 2016, Jay Bost of GoFarm and John Hart of EarthWork Seeds approached Carol and Anthony Boutard (owners of Ayers Creek Farm) to see if they would plant some seeds harvested from breeding work done on Hawaii. They agreed and began the process. Of the five successful plants from the 2016 planting, all were white-fleshed and tawny-skinned.
Care: Plant 12-18″ apart at the bottom of a 12-20″ deep trench in loose well-drained soil and full sun. Hill up soil as plants grow, keeping 12″ of foliage above the soil surface. Water well every 7-10 days.
