It seems to need a good supply of moisture and may struggle in very dry conditions. Under ideal conditions, plants can reach 6 feet when in flower. Eaten fresh as salad when young, used as wraps, cooked in soups or fried as tempura, this is an all-purpose high-quality food plant.
