It is native to the eastern United States. Compact, perennial shrub grows 3\u20136 feet. The Latin <i>rivularis<\/i> means loving brooks. It refers to the plant&#8217;s preference of growing in moist habitats. Chartreuse, arrow -shaped foliage adds contrast and interest in the border. A low maintenance plant, reaching 2 ft\u2019 tall by 3 ft \u2033 wide, it&#8217;s tolerant of a wide range of soils and prefers partial shade.
