The fleshy leaves of this low-growing shore plant are rich in flavor, which is comparable to oysters, anchovies, mushrooms and borage. The perennial plant flowers initially reddish and changes its flower color to light blue in early summer. Hardy perennial is very suitable for planting in rock gardens. Oysterleaf loves sunny locations and fresh, well drained, slightly sandy soils. Full sun. Grows to one foot tall.
