Indeterminate. A wonderful heirloom variety dating back to the 1920s. According to Baker Creek, this brandywine “was a controlled cross between Brandywine and the original brown Beefsteak tomato otherwise known as Fejee Improved.” Like all brandywines, Brandywine Black produces heavy yields of large, exceptionally flavorful fruit. Great for sandwiches, salsa or with mozzarella and balsamic vinegar, this is a wonderful tomato.
Care: Set plants 1½ -2 ½ feet apart if staked or caged in a sunny area after all danger of frost is past.
