Pavonia ‘Many Flowers’ (Brazilian candles)

Description

True to its name, Many Flowers appear year-round on this unusual Brazilian species. The narrow red bracts, reaching skyward, reveal the rolled purple flowers and its protruding stamen. This shiny leafed mallow has an upright growth habit, is easy to grow and responds well to hard pruning. Hardy to Zone 10, likes full to partial sun. Provide a well-drained, average moist, fertile soil for optimum vigor and flowering. Grows to 2-4′. Photo courtesy of Logees.
