True English Delphiniums
Hand crossed seed
These historic plants are the last crosses available of True English Delphiniums sourced from the original members of the British Delphinium Society of Great Britain a decade ago.
These delphiniums will grow 6 to 8 feet tall, have exquisite mixed colors and form, upright growth and outstanding winter hardiness and are the results of decades of patient hand-pollination and back-crossing with named British clones.
They will thrive in deep, moist, rich, well-drained limy soil, in a location that is sunny but not baking-hot. As they bloom this first summer, you can mark your favorites, and next spring propagate your own clones by rooting sprouts from the crown. Cut one or two shoots as soon as they emerge, before they become hollow, and leave the other shoots to grow and bloom. Be sure to include a piece of the woody crown with each cutting, and root.
