Crassula perforata ‘String of Buttons’ (necklace vine)

Description

Grows 1-2’ tall with a 2-3’ spread. Pale green leaves, resembling petals, have bright rosy pink edges. The leaves grow in a spiral around the stem. Tender soft succulent – will not tolerate frost. Part sun to part shade. Needs some protection from midday heat in hot locales but the brighter light brings out the red tones and plants will flower more. Water occasionally. This plant is called Necklace Vine because the leaves can be rotated around on the stem like beads on a string or String of Buttons because the opposing pairs of lower cordate leaves appear threaded onto the stems. Hardy to Zones 9/10.
