Basil ‘Temperate Tulsi’ (Ocimum africanum)

Description

All the benefits of regular tulsi-type basil, but in a temperate variety; much easier to grow in the Pacific Northwest, with faster growth and greater productivity than typical tusli-type basil. A bushy annual tea basil with small leaves, purple flowers, and powerfully aromatic. Most likely East African in origin. One of the shortest season, most frost-hardy cultivars. It also self-seeds over the seasons, which is unusual among basils. Traditional usage (Ayurveda): stress, anxiety, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, and dementia. Drinking tulsi tea in the morning is a fantastic way to get started. Full sun.
