Rhubarb ‘Crimson Red’

Description

Large, crisp-tender crimson stalks with a wonderful balance of sweet and tart flavor. Winter hardy plants are productive for years, providing good yields of the 24 inch stalks for mouth-watering spring tarts or cobblers.
Care: Plant 3-4′ apart in full sun and loose, fertile soil prepared with aged compost or manure, positioning the growing point at soil level. To allow plants to get established in the first year, keep well-watered and don’t harvest any stalks. Beginning in the second year, harvest stalks by pulling them from the plant; remove no more than half the stalks each season to encourage good production for the following year.
