Peruvian ginger has a stronger and bolder flavor than its Chinese counterpart. The rich flavor is in part due to the Peruvian rainforest mountain soil and the complex Amazonian growing climate. Peruvian Ginger is a completely different product from Chinese Ginger. Now you can grow it at home! Ginger is a heavy feeder and an even heavier drinker that needs a lot of room to grow. Given the space, a chunk the size of your thumb will easily grow to fill a 2-gallon pot over the course of about six months. Choose a pretty container with good drainage holes and a deep saucer.
