A very early-season, Turban type garlic with a nice mellow flavor, without the tough inner core prevalent in most hardneck varieties. Chinese Pink produces scapes, which are themselves delicious and can be used just like the clove itself. It has white outer skins, pinkish-purple inner skins, and pink clove wrappers; stores for 4-5 months. Photo courtesy of Territorial Seed.
Care: Plant 6-8″ apart, 1-2″ deep. Harvest when all but 3-4 leaves turn dry and brown (usually July). Hang to dry in cool, shady, ventilated area for 2 weeks, then store in a cool dark location.
