Cute, round, miniature cucumbers are covered in blunt edible spines that make them look like burrs. An easy-to-grow heirloom native to West Africa, now popular in the Caribbean and South America. Known for their productivity, vigor, and many uses. With mild cucumber flavor, they can be eaten raw, pickled (like French gherkins), or even cooked as you would zucchini.
Cucumbers need heat and well-drained soil: plant in full sun in raised beds or hills. Vining plants can be allowed to sprawl or grown on a trellis.
