Cilantro ‘Slow Bolting’ (Coriandrum sativum)

Description

Excellent for muddling in vodka and gin drinks, and/or use a garnish. Pairs well with citrus, tomatoes, chilis and tropical fruits. Plants grow 12-15″ tall. Snip fresh leaves as needed. 40-60 days to first harvest. Plant small clumps 3-4″ apart in part sun and cool moist soil.

Farmers Market Vodka Garden:

Over the centuries, vodka has been distilled from potatoes, grains and fruit – anything the farmer had left over at the end of harvest. And because vodka is a neutral spirit, it can be infused with all the flavors of the farmers market. Try a lighter, fresher version of the classic Bloody Mary by simply smashing fresh tomatoes in the shaker and straining. Or infuse vodka with peppers and herbs to preserve the flavor of the harvest.

Garden G&T: Muddle 1.5 ounces vodka, fresh pepper, cilantro, cucumber and the juice of ¼ lime. Shake over ice, strain and serve on the rocks. Top with tonic water and garnish with cilantro leaves.
